Focus On: OptimalResume
Writing your resume just got easier! The Career Development Center encourages you to take advantage of our new, cutting-edge resume system available through the link on the NU Career Development Center page at www.alumni.norwich.edu/careercenter.
OptimalResume is a user friendly system that will help you create a great Microsoft Word resume and Flash resume Web site quickly and easily. The system is also quite flexible. Start by creating an account, then come back later and finish your resume in stages if you want. It's easy!
The service is sponsored by the Career Development Center and is free to Norwich students. It will allow you access to your resume via the Web and to keep it updated on a 24/7 basis in real time. There are numerous examples and wording help throughout the process and plenty of resume output formats to choose from. Spell checking, format help and a list of other career related resources are also provided. OptimalResume does the hard work. All you have to do is concentrate on the content.
So, use the "Get Started" function on the home page and begin by creating an account. Once you have your first draft resume, be sure to visit the professional, friendly staff of the NU Career Development Center. We'll help you fine tune your resume and talk about next steps in the career search process. We're located in Room 232 of the Wise Campus Center. Stop by or call 485-2125 to schedule an appointment.
