Over the past year, there have been many changes at Norwich. There are new buildings and new bridges, and changes to the Corps of Cadets. But one thing hasn’t changed–the food being served at the Wise Campus Center, provided by Sodexho.
Out of curiosity, we asked students if they knew how often the menu changed at Sodexho. The most common response was “not very often.”
Some students went further into detail as to say how many times per week we are served the same thing.
Think about it: what changes in the menu line? There are always cheeseburgers, hot dogs, quesadillas, pizza, pasta, sandwiches (ham, turkey, bologna), and cereal. Just one item per night is different, and that seems to rotate between five different meals.
What happened to last year’s proposal of a stir fry line once per week?
There is also concern about the size of the Wise Campus Center. If Norwich knew it was building more dorms, why wasn’t a dining hall built large enough to seat all the students which attend?
There are lots of questions about the Sodexho plans and meal options. Look for a follow up story about Sodexho and the student issues about meal plans in a further issue.
